Projection (2002)
STORY:
A young teenage girl sits alone on a bench in a Zoo.
As she watches passers-by, she hears their thoughts.
Or is she just projecting her own thoughts onto others?
Or are you?"
PRODUCTION:
Hanover Pictures were approached by ITV West Television Workshop, based in Bristol, to help produce a short film. Workshop members worked to devise scenes and characters and these improvisations were developed over a period of several Workshops and
then crafted into a workable script.
Projection required a visually exciting public location. A place where the central character could observe a great number and variety of different people. Bristol Zoo was chosen, providing a stunning location and many exciting animal extras - including Wendy, Bristol Zoo's famous elephant.
Director Paul Dudbridge adds, "I think we have all
been in situations which occur in the film and can
relate to them quiet easily. We have all wanted to
know if that girl on the bench sat next to us would
say yes if you asked her out. If only we knew for sure."
