Biography

Helen graduated from the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts (BAPA) in July 2002 after specialising in Musical Theatre. With several theatre credits to her name and performances at theatres such as The London Palladium, The Bristol Hippodrome, The Bath Theatre Royal and The George School, Pennslyvania, she decided to embark into television and joined the ITV WEST Television Workshop. It's there that Helen was cast in leading roles in their stage productions of 'WOMBERANG!' and TWELFTH NIGHT'. As a talented musician and singer, in December 2002 she took the role as musical director for the Workshop Pantomime 'DICK WHITTINGTON & BOB THE CAT!' and then later went on to work as vocal coach and form part of the orchestra in their 2004 production of 'BUGSY MALONE'.

It is through the workshop that Helen won the role of "Lonely Girl" in Hanover Pictures' short film "Projection".

In April 2003 Helen travelled with the Television Workshop to North Carolina where she performed & composed music for an adaptation of 'Under Milk Wood'. Whilst out there Helen also presented several television shorts aimed at pre-school children which were later broadcast on Channel Five.

Helen works for Endemol as a senior researcher and also embarks on theatre and television projects outside. She is also a permanent tutor to the 9-12yr old groups at the ITV Television Workshop and regularly compares at Bristol's Ashton Court Festival interviewing bands and introducing acts over the festival weekend. Helen has also taught TVYP students at the MGEITF in Edinburgh during the Fringe weekend, as part of getting new talent into TV.

As a regular presenter for ITV West's childrens' show "Look", Helen has recorded many shows covering a wide variety of subjects reporting from many locations around the south west.

Helen is currently working hard writing lyrics and co-writing music for the next workshop's production 'A Christmas Carol' to be staged at the Mission Theatre in Bath in December 2007, as she takes the role of Director for the first time.
