Biography

Adam’s initial training took place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied singing with Ian Kennedy. He then moved on to complete his training and take his postgraduate diploma in Professional Musical Theatre at the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts (BAPA), studying under Andrew Hambly-Smith.

For ten years Adam took part in the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival where he was lucky enough to specialise in the patter roles under the expert guidance and direction of D’Oyly Carte ‘patter-man’ Alistair Donkin. Notably, Adam played John Wellington Wells The Sorcerer (2004) for which he became the youngest ever recipient of the International award, Best Male Performer. In 2006, he played his favourite role, Jack Point The Yeomen of the Guard which was also internationally acclaimed.

Professionally, Adam has worked with some of the most prolific names in theatre including Jill Pert, Donald Maxwell and Andrew Shore (English National Opera) and has twice toured the UK with Blag Theatre Company and their parody show Entertainment… My Arts! He currently makes up a quarter of Bristol based musical comedy company On That Note.

Recent roles include Cornelius Hackl Hello, Dolly! Arthur Kipps Half a Sixpence, Scarecrow The Wiz, The Pirate King in the Broadway version of The Pirates of Penzance, Adam/Japheth Children of Eden, The King of Siam The King and I, Brian Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens and Darryl Van Horne The Witches of Eastwick.

As a director/choreographer, Adam has produced shows such as The Marriage of Figaro, Trial by Jury, The Gondoliers, Hello, Dolly! (nominated for a national award for excellence) and Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens for BAPA. Adam has also appeared in various television series and short films for Channel 4, ITV and the BBC and recently recorded an animation with Paul McGann (of Doctor Who fame) written by Paul Eccentric.
